Profile

Legal Assistant-Paralegal Corporate Duties: Develops and maintains all Board and Board Committee meeting minutes, resolutions and other Board and Board Committee documentation. Applies technical acumen and understanding of issues to develop appropriately succinct minutes to reflect the proceedings, while also capturing accurate detail to meet accrediting body requirements. Provides support for other projects in support of the Boards and related committees. Reports to General Counsel and collaborates with Executive, Administrative, and Corporate teams to support Childrens’ multiple Boards of Directors, and support other Legal tasks assigned by the organization’s General Counsel and other members of the Legal team. Maintains confidential information on the highest level and communicates (orally and in writing) with the Boards and leadership.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Paralegal certificate or equivalent paralegal experience and Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Requires 5 years of paralegal or paralegal/legal assistant support. Experience providing support to attorneys preferred. Healthcare and hospital organization and administration experience preferred. Knowledge of legal concepts and ability to think critically. Experience working with contracts and producing legal documents; familiarity with legal language and terms. Minute taking and board support experience preferred with the ability to type and transcribe at a skill level of 60 wpm and proofread. 3 years of corporate experience and experience working with senior leaders, executives, and board members. High level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading skills. The ability to analyze documents for accuracy. Competence in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and system including managing both electronic and paper files and records. Good judgment and organizational ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet daily demands, as well as respond to urgent situations. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to strategic plans as well as operational changes and legal matters within the organization. Demonstrated ability to represent the organization in a professional manner in all communications and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff as well as with Board members and their staff. Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
