ProfileCase Assistant or Case Manager The candidate will establish, enforce, and review child support obligations as well as duties associated with e-filing child support orders. Will respond to inquiries from case participants, employers, and the public regarding child support services, payments, and policies. Supports the case manager in areas of child support collections, health insurance enforcement, locate, and administrative enforcement. This person performs initial investigative actions, sends out preliminary and progressive enforcement letters, routes documents for signatures, prepares and monitors service documents, prioritizes worklist items, and uses KIDS reports to ensure actions are taken within required timelines. Interviews clients, prepares court cases for establishment of paternity and child support orders, and enforces/modifies existing child support orders. Negotiates and drafts stipulations for out of court settlements. Appears at court hearings and drafts the resulting court documents. Use the KIDS statewide child support computer system to enter health insurance information, generate letters and documents, enter and disposition events, monitor cases, and enter general case and/or participant information. Use multiple computer systems to locate absent parents and gather information. Use worklists and reports to process new data, take appropriate actions within federal timelines, and assist the case manager in meeting federal performance measures. Scan documents and use the e-filing system to route and file documents with the Clerk of Courts. Use the KIDS statewide child support computer system to draft court documents to include pleadings, stipulations, court orders, affidavits for paternity, and contempt pick-up and commitment orders. Utilize KIDS and other computer systems to monitor cases, implement appropriate actions within required timelines, and ensure federal performance measures are met. Uses the e-filing system daily to deliver documents to the Assistant Corporation Counsel for review, route documents for signature, and e-file documents with the Clerk of Courts.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have High school graduation. Should have higher education in paralegal field and/or 1-2 years of experience in child support or other position involving considerable public interaction and investigation is desired. Education or training in use of multiple computer systems and word processing. Must have 1-2 years of experience working in child support. Knowledge of family court proceedings as well as an understanding of the policies and procedures to determine paternity, and to establish, enforce, and modify child support/health insurance orders is needed. Experience in using KIDS to provide child support case management and/or financial management is required.
