Paralegal Responsibilities: Reports directly to the Corporate Counsel—U.S. and will work closely with Human Resources, Finance, Contract Managers, outside counsel (as necessary), and internal business unit clients on a wide variety of matters pertaining to employment law, disputes and litigations, insurance/bonding/letters of credit, corporate governance and entity management, and management of the Legal Department’s contract management system, including the following: Assist Corporate Counsel in monitoring and managing litigation matters (especially in the areas of workers’ compensation, torts, and contracts) and major disputes, including notification to insurance carriers and working with outside counsel. Track legal spending and submit invoices for processing. Assist with obtaining contractors licenses where necessary in each state. Design, negotiate, place and manage all aspects of property, workers’ compensation, auto liability, general liability, pollution, and executive lines of insurance. Provide counsel to business partners on insurance requirements in contracts. Direct the management of the Insurance Program Administration; Certificates of Insurance, Bonds, Letters of Credit, Automobile Identification Cards, and Risk related Contract Reviews. Assist Corporate Counsel in general corporate governance duties, especially entity management. Manage the operation of the Company’s legal contract management system. Conducts legal research as needed.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and/or ABA approved Paralegal Certificate. 5+ years of paralegal experience in the areas of litigation management, insurance, and/or entity management. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Excel). Attention to detail, accuracy and flexibility in handling multiple tasks, often under time constraints. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to appropriately handle highly confidential information. Problem solving, decision making and analytical skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work in a timely manner. Experience developing collaborative working relationships with internal business unit clients and outside counsel. Preferred: Experience working for a company providing goods and services to industrial customers. 5+ years of experience conducting legal research. 5+ years of experience managing a legal contract management system.
