Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on privacy and security obligations under state, federal, and international laws.
  • Guide data security incident response, including regulatory notifications and breach management.
  • Defend clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security.
  • Assist in developing and implementing privacy and data protection policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to manage complex privacy and cybersecurity issues.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed data protection and cybersecurity analyses.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in privacy and data protection law, focusing on cybersecurity.
  • Experience advising on privacy and security obligations, including state, federal, and international data security incident notification.
  • Proven track record in defending regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.
  • Prior law firm or in-house experience with privacy and cybersecurity breach response or relevant litigation experience.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (preferably Ohio).
