Profile

Corporate Counsel, Marketing & Litigation (Remote) Duties: Keep up to speed on the latest developments in advertising laws, including pricing and promotion laws, internet advertising laws, as well as rules and self-regulatory principles applicable to a technology company including the standards set forth by the FTC and IAB in the US and similar regulatory agencies globally. Work with the marketing and creative services teams to develop and review standards, creative, and disclosures for landing pages and other customer touchpoints, initiatives and collateral. Create use-case-specific reference materials and trainings hosted on the Legal Portal. Develop tailored content-review workflows in collaboration with Legal Operations to expedite the content review process. Identify and oversee required system integrations to expand content-review workflows to business teams operating on specialized platforms. Collaborate with the IP team on obtaining strategic trademark and copyright (TM/CR) registrations. Enforce and defend TM/CR via appropriate take-down avenues, including litigation. Counsel marketing and creative teams on the appropriate use and third-party TM/CR. Assist with early case assessments and internal investigations. Provide eDiscovery and general litigation support.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of relevant in-house legal department experience. Knowledge of advertising, pricing and consumer-protection laws and regulations related to technology, software and SaaS offerings. Team player who welcomes responsibility and thrives in an intense, fast-paced environment. Resourceful self-starter who enjoys wearing multiple hats and digging into challenging projects, big and small. Experience in operationalizing marketing and content review workstreams and implementing practical solutions across departments. Ability to effectively communicate legal and compliance issues verbally and in writing in a clear and understandable manner; strong interpersonal skills. Ability to travel and work varying hours to accommodate global workforce, as needed.
