Bankruptcy Paralegal Responsibilities: Draft motions, responses, and various other pleadings as needed. Review lengthy pay histories. Review Chapter 13 Plans. Review Court docket (PACER) and monitor ECF emails for important filings. Notate in house file tracking system. Liaise with clients through various systems (VendorScape, LPS, Tempo, etc.) and update as needed. Oversee and manage 150+ case files. Research for process information while following procedure. Communicate with attorneys, clients, third parties (such as homeowners), and outside counsel. Act as telephone point of contact for all files in caseload. Prepare files and notes for hearings. Provide staff support as necessary for our firm attorneys. Other duties may be occasionally assigned by a direct bankruptcy supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: 3+ years office related experience in a busy legal setting. File processing experience. Experience working with attorneys. Experience working with lenders preferred. Previous proof of claim bankruptcy experience. Previous experience working with Vendorscape, LPS, and other vendor related software preferred. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Strong organizational skills. Detail Oriented. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a large case load. High proficiency with computers and technology.

"Not One ofthe Best Firms"

I think that a management overhaul is needed. The firm has gone too far with the current management. They should be sent to either a training course or fired. The pay and benefits don't make up for the abuse the staff gets regularly.

Pros : One of the best things about this firm is that the quality of work that is done is second to none. The staff ensures that the work is thorough and there isn't anything over looked. The firm really takes care of the employees with great benefits and a great salary, which helps us wanting to ensure that the quality is there. It's a great place in that regard.
Cons : Unfortunately, great pay can only get so far. The work at the firm can be depressing and that doesn't help with the verbal abusive the staff receives from the management. The workplace is toxic and if you aren't being yelled at by management, you are dealing with there not being any real leadership here. The turnover is very high. The management knows this and they just have a ""learn on your own"" approach to new people. However, they do something wrong they are going to be yelled at and ridiculed.
