Counsel, Procurement The candidate will be reviewing, drafting and negotiating broad range of commercial contracts. Will be providing legal advice and support on a variety of commercial transactions, including strategic sourcing and RFPs. Assisting with management of the contract lifecycle, including drafts, modifications, amendments and renewals. Developing contract templates, clause library and related procedures. Design, implementation and maintenance of policies and processes to identify and mitigate commercial transaction risks and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company requirements. Working with procurement and business personnel to manage procurement and contract review, approval process, repository and related tools. Collaborating with other lawyers, including outside counsel, who provide contract support. Driving efficiencies and continual improvement of contract review and vendor management processes.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 7 years’ relevant experience with wide variety of contracts and related project oversight, including work on complex IT contracts and related agreement drafting, review and negotiation. Should have JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to Illinois Bar (or able to waive in). Must have in-depth knowledge of contract law and commercial issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and solid analytical skills.
