ProfileStaff Attorney The candidate monitors litigation involving the Company and its affiliates. Researches, counsels and advises the business concerning regulatory compliance and legislation impacting the organization. Oversees the administration of regulatory examinations and audits. Contract review – review, draft, edit, amend and otherwise prepare and even negotiate vendor contracts and other commercial and transactional documents. Provides advice and counsel to various internal departments on a variety of substantive legal matters, including insurance coverage, claims handling and sales and underwriting practices. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations and determine application to the Company. Provide day-to-day legal support to the Company and its affiliates. Prepare regulatory filings and negotiate with regulators to achieve business objectives. Develop and conduct legal training for business partners. Administers other matters as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school, with strong academic record. Admission to Ohio Bar, active license in good standing required. Must have 5+ years of experience. Previous leadership experience preferred. Familiarity with corporate formation, powers and documentation essential. Working knowledge of business contract principles needed. Expertise in substantive insurance issues and insurance regulatory processes needed. Insurance product or coverage experience preferred.
