Profile

IP Litigation Paralegal Duties: Provides paralegal services to Intellectual Property attorneys and acts as a liaison between the attorney and the case files throughout all stages of litigation including pre-suit, investigation and case development, mediation, arbitration and trial. Handles arbitration demands, consolidations and final hearing preparation and management; is responsible for managing the workflow of caseload to ensure that statutory, court and arbitration deadlines are met; coordinates and manages bulk multi-party mediations, from scheduling through the execution of settlement agreements and payments; communicates with insurance adjuster and insurer representatives, providing requested documents and confirming coverage details; has the ability to problem-solve, create and implement best practices for workflow of team; coordinates trial or hearing logistics; works with litigation support specialists and attorneys on electronic productions; and performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in IP Litigation, and 2+ years of IP litigation experience is required. Strong time management skills; ability to work under pressure on time-sensitive projects; willingness to work overtime and travel occasionally; self-motivation and the ability to work independently; ability to work effectively on a team and with all levels of personnel; excellent oral and written communication skills; superior knowledge of legal terminology, documents and the legal process; excellent research and analytical skills; and high-level attention to detail. Experience in Blue-Booking/Cite-Checking, Relativity, and Case Map a plus.

There is a need for training of management staff to be more organized with the work and implement a much more organized working structure. More employees should be hired so that some of the staff does not have to stay in later to work.

Pros : The law firm offers a shuttle service. The environment of the law firm is composed of considerate and employees who do well at the work they perform.
Cons : The law firm really needs to consider hiring more employees for the office. Some of the staff is sometimes asked to work until the later hours. Management lacks in being organized with work.
