Grapevine office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate litigation attorney with 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience on the defense or plaintiff side. The candidate will get significant responsibility for the overall management and handling of cases, along with substantial deposition, mediation, and courtroom experience. Will manage cases from beginning to end. Evaluate venue/jurisdictional issues. Remove cases to federal court or compelling arbitration, when appropriate. Draft pleadings and draft and argue motions. Conduct a site/store visit, where appropriate. Identify, locate, and interview witnesses. Draft and respond to discovery. Prepare for, take, and defend depositions. Identify the need for, designate, and work with experts to develop their opinions and/or reports, where needed. Attend mediations. Prepare pretrial filings, witness outlines, and demonstrative exhibits and PowerPoints. Prepare witnesses to testify in depositions and trials. Participate as first- or second-chair trial counsel. Develop a customized litigation strategy for each case. Evaluate each case's unique strengths and weaknesses. Analyze the potential for liability. Analyze and develop a likely damages model and estimated verdict range. Develop and implement the optimal resolution strategy. Conduct research and perform other tasks assigned by more senior attorneys. Identify and pursue tender opportunities, potential counter- and cross-claims, and potentially responsible third parties. Work closely with clients, supervising attorneys, and paralegals to develop and implement a joint litigation strategy. Identify and ensure compliance with all deadlines, including those imposed under procedural rules, relevant statutes, docket or scheduling orders, and client litigation guidelines. Provide timely, high-quality case management reports according to each client's specific reporting requirements. Manage first-chair small claims cases and smaller trials, and second-chair larger trials with a partner or supervising attorney. Litigation experience in both Texas federal and state courts is required. Texas Bar admission is essential.
