Health Law Fellow The candidate provides a one-year experience in the Office of General Counsel of a regional, not-for-profit integrated healthcare delivery system. Reports to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel with day to day supervision from the Washington Region Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Responsible for providing staff attorney support to designated projects. Participates in leadership level discussions and committees regarding the myriad of strategic and operational legal issues affecting the system. Observes, first hand, the legal role in the patient experience. Obtains practical experience through direct exposure to and active participation in a variety of legal activities across the system. Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Experience with some aspect of health law or health care is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills are required. Preferred skills include: ability to analyze legal problems, conduct legal research and analysis, and offer operational advice to clients; ability to present and communicate complex information to various audiences, including internal clientele; solid proof-reading skills; initiative and ability to follow-up, high attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and strong problem-solving skills; advanced project/time management and strong organizational ability to manage large projects; ability to work collaboratively with team, and as an independent contributor.
