Job Overview: A law firm in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Defense Litigation Attorney with 2-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a solid academic background, and hands-on experience managing cases from inception through resolution. Experience in products liability, toxic tort, construction defect, employment, and/or general liability is preferred. Admission to the Missouri State Bar is required, and admission to the Illinois State Bar is a plus.

Duties:

• Manage defense litigation cases from start to finish, including all aspects of case development and resolution.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal analysis and strategy.
• Take and defend depositions, and handle all aspects of discovery.
• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to develop case strategies.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and court procedures.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of defense litigation experience.
• Hands-on experience managing cases from inception through resolution.
• Experience in products liability, toxic tort, construction defect, employment, and/or general liability.
• Must be admitted to practice in Missouri (MO).
• Admission to practice in Illinois (IL) is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Missouri State Bar.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar is a plus.
