Litigation Legal Assistant Duties: Support the litigation and administrative needs of practice. Support staff position at the location. File documents (electronic and manual) with various Courts, perform appropriate service on all filings; retrieve court dockets, cases and other materials from various online databases, and track status of cases. Draft, revise, proofread and maintain a variety of litigation documents. Prepare (including TOC and TOA). Maintain court deadlines, events and meetings using Amicus and Outlook calendars. Work with vendors to arrange depositions, court calls, and messenger/attorney service. Administrative tasks for attorneys, including expense reports, check requests, scanning, copying, coordinating incoming/outgoing mail, travel arrangements. Perform conflict checks and opening of new matters. Organize electronic and hard files Handle administrative and operational duties of the office under the direction of the Firm Administrator.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. 9+ years in commercial litigation. Excellent communications skills, is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of independently managing work load and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced legal environment with minimal supervision. Advanced PC skills: MS Operating System; Adobe; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Experience working with Amicus or similar practice management software programs. Experience with Worldox or similar document management software programs.
