Job Overview: A law firm in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a Mid-Level Digital Risk Advisory and Cyber-Security Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance, focusing on data security incidents, regulatory investigations, and compliance with contractual and legal security obligations. The ideal candidate will possess 3-6 years of relevant experience, including advising on privacy and security obligations and defending regulatory investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters, including state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations.
• Advise clients on compliance with privacy and security obligations, including contractual and legal requirements.
• Respond to and manage data security incidents, including conducting investigations and coordinating with technical experts.
• Defend clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and security breaches.
• Develop and implement privacy and security policies and procedures.
• Draft and review privacy notices, data processing agreements, and other documents.
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to address complex privacy and security issues.
• Stay updated on changes in data privacy and security laws and regulations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex issues into understandable terms.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, including advising on compliance and handling data security incidents.
• Experience in a law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to manage a complex workload in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar in Ohio.
