The candidate working with the four attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel, will be responsible for supporting the Office and staffing the University's Financial Conflict of Interest (COI) in Research program that covers scientists and clinical personnel. Responsibilities include maintaining and checking the accuracy of the University's conflict of interest database, assisting in the implementation of a new vendor release of COI software, preparing, tracking, and updating the calendar for review of potential conflicts, preparing draft templates for the attorney who staffs the COI program, and interacting with scientists, clinicians, and other administrators as needed. Will be responsible for managing the Office, including handling the finances by preparing the annual budget, tracking expenditures, and purchasing equipment and supplies, managing case and correspondence files by maintaining spreadsheets, performing factual research, and drafting correspondence, maintaining the Office's electronic and hard copy files, conducting web searches, following-up on contracts, managing litigation documents, scheduling meetings, coordinating outside services, and answering phones and general information requests.
Qualification and ExperienceA Bachelor's degree required. Must have excellent interpersonal, computer, organizational, and writing skills and the ability to work independently and cooperatively with others. Must have keen attention to accuracy and detail, ability to keep confidences, and a high professional standard. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is necessary. Knowledge of Huron/Click or comparable research administration compliance database software preferred.
