Senior Counsel - CCL (Supply Chain) Responsibilities: Advise supply chain and enterprise business services leadership on strategic and operational issues relating to suppliers, including the negotiation, and drafting of complex supplier agreements. Advise on compliance with anti-kickback and privacy requirements and policies. Responsible for the development of tools, templates, and training to increase the efficiency and compliance of the vendor contracting process.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelors degree. JD degree required. California bar license or willingness to become a California Registered In-House Counsel. 8+ years of experience with the negotiating and drafting of vendor contracts, including experience at a law firm and/or in-house. Solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and sharp analytical skills. Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: 12+ years of experience with the negotiating and drafting of vendor contracts, including experience at a law firm and/or in-house, strongly preferred. Experience providing advice on HIPAA, Business Associate Agreements and the Anti-Kickback statute in vendor arrangements and contracts. Experience with vendor arrangements involving the transfer of data and intellectual property. Experience leading team-based projects, with documented success. Strong background handling vendor disputes and settlements. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the negotiation and drafting of marketing and sponsorship agreements. Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in most or all of the above-referenced areas. Excellent academic and professional qualifications. Excellent references. Superior writing and analytical skills based on substantial experience advising complex organizations. Demonstrated qualities consistent with the Department’s preferred operating style, i.e., mutual respect, fairness, honesty, ethical behavior, independent, creative thinking while operating as a team member.
