Real Estate / Title Attorney The candidate will understand of title commitments and requirements for the issuance of final title policies. Will advise and assist customers and their attorneys in resolving title issues, satisfying title requirements and successfully managing the closing process. Review entity organizational documents in connection with determining proper authority of parties to transact. Prepare title closing documents. Draft and review title curative documents. Conduct closings for both commercial and residential sale and loan transactions. Provide legal support and guidance on title-related matters for escrow/closing team members. Assess and interpret risks associated with title issues using sound and established title underwriting standards. Assist with development of title-related policies and procedures. Basic understanding of the review process of sworn statements and waivers for new construction projects. Perform other duties as assigned. JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. Licensed and admitted to the practice of law in the State of Michigan is needed. Should have 2-4 years of experience as a real estate/title attorney. Exceptional written and oral communication skills necessary to professionally communicate with customers are needed. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of title insurance. Excellent customer service skills are essential. State of Michigan Residential Title Producers License or be willing to prepare for and successfully pass the exam required to obtain the license is needed.
