Corporate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for working directly with the Legal Team and cross functionally with RSO Departments and Restaurant locations to support the company and deliver exceptional legal work. Will perform substantive legal work within certain set parameters and under the direction of the VP of Legal. Function as a generalist attorney; however, experience in employment and corporate matters is a plus as one or both may become focus of role. Work closely with outside counsel and will also assist in training the RSOs and Restaurants on various topics. Provide exceptional, practical legal advice to RSO and Restaurants; prepare and negotiate contracts relating to supply chain, procurement, benefits, IT, etc. Develop internal processes for contract review and administration, record retention and e-discovery, third-party subpoenas, accommodation requests, review of form agreements and policies on rolling basis. Work collaboratively with Crew Resources to manage employment-related matters, including EEOC charges, crew relations issues, provide proactive training on a variety of topics, and develop scalable processes, with the goal of reducing risk and optimizing operational efficiency for the Restaurants. Perform comprehensive review of corporate structure and formalities, review of all company agreements and equity plans, provide support for financing efforts, and handle other corporate matters as they arise.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 5-8 years of experience, preferably with 3-5 years in-house. Background in employment and/or corporate matters is a plus. Restaurant and/or retail experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree, J.D. degree, and law license in good standing required.
