A law firm in Northville, MI, is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong practice skills in estate planning, trust administration, probate court, guardianship, and conservatorships, particularly in contested or litigated matters. This role requires managing a heavy practice load and taking personal responsibility for a wide range of transactional and litigation files.

Duties:

• Handle estate planning, trust administration, and probate court matters, including contested and litigated cases.
• Manage a heavy practice load, taking personal responsibility for transactional and litigation files.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Function independently in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
• Provide legal counsel and representation in guardianship and conservatorship matters.
• Collaborate with clients to develop effective case strategies and solutions.
• Manage and supervise legal assistants and paralegals as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong practice skills in estate planning, trust administration, probate court, guardianships, and conservatorships.
• Ability to manage a heavy practice load and take personal responsibility for diverse legal matters.
• Proven research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
• A portable business is preferred but not required.
• Bar admission is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Michigan State Bar is required.
