Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Litigation Attorney to support a team in the Flint, MI office. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in a litigation practice and a strong background in handling various types of litigation matters independently. This is a dynamic opportunity for an attorney with a solid foundation in legal research, drafting documents, and deposition experience. The position involves significant client contact and requires a commitment to in-office work.
Location:
Duties:
- Support attorneys in managing and handling litigation matters, including research, drafting legal documents, and taking depositions.
- Independently handle litigation cases such as commercial litigation, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction, and/or personal injury.
- Draft and file general litigation motions and other legal documents.
- Provide legal support in court proceedings, including preparing and presenting oral arguments.
- Assist with reviewing and analyzing medical records.
- Stay updated on Michigan Court Rules, Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and client needs.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience in a litigation practice.
- Proven experience taking depositions and handling litigation matters independently.
- Prior clerkship experience with a judge or court of appeals preferred.
- Strong research, legal writing, and communication skills.
- Experience with general litigation motion writing and courtroom oral advocacy.
- General understanding of medical records and their relevance to litigation.
- Working knowledge of Michigan Court Rules and Rules of Evidence.
- Familiarity with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Comfortable with learning and adapting to new legal software.

- Member in good standing of the Michigan Bar.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
