Employee Relations Manager
The candidate will support logistics network within North America. Will work as a project manager on proactive programs that improve local and network employee relations. Work proactively to: Independently own large scale, network-wide projects that improve the associate experience. Partner and influence senior leaders when necessary to ensure a positive associate experience. Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices tailored to business needs. Design and conduct multiple positive labor relations trainings and communications. Design, collect, and analyze multiple levels of associate feedback. Conduct and oversee employee relations and vulnerability assessment programs. Partner to engage in continuous improvement in communication vehicles and practices. Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations. Work reactively on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and typically can only be successfully completed with limited time. Balancing time between projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position. Provide support to end-to-end response efforts necessary to reactively solve critical employee relations issues for sites and/or nodes, with particular focus on high risk locations. Reports to an Employee Relations Principal within the Operations Human Resources group.

Qualification and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations a significant plus. Should have 7 years direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on labor and employee relations work. Must have experience in warehouse and/or transportation facilities nearly essential; experience in unionized environments a significant plus. Must have solid understanding of federal and state employment & labor laws. Should have experience in designing and delivering successful training programs./ Should have significant employee and labor relations experience, deep subject matter knowledge, and strong communication and interpersonal skills that enables him or her to work successfully and independently on a broad spectrum of employee and labor relations issues and projects. Must be technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint, with ability to become proficient with HTML a plus. Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling individual to establish partnerships working with senior leaders and across organizational lines are preferred.
