Qualification and Experience
J.D. degree or equivalent and admission to at least one State bar. 12 or more years of patent experience in the biotechnology field, preferably including at least five years working in-house for an innovative biopharmaceutical company. Registered to practice before the USPTO and eligible to practice in Washington or obtain a limited license for in-house counsel. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the biologic or related sciences. An advanced degree and/or scientific research experience preferred. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Service-oriented focus with ability to work as part of cross-functional teams and drive results. Highest integrity, excellent judgment and the ability to proactively recognize and effectively assess business risk and communicate legal issues to patent, legal and general management.
