Temporary Executive Communications Senior Professional The candidate will work closely with the C&PA director to conceptualize, develop, and write communication materials for the laboratory director and other executives, including PowerPoint presentations, abstracts, speeches, talking points, white papers, background materials, and other documents that articulate the vision, science and engineering accomplishments, and thought leadership of the laboratory. Write content in different styles, formats, voices, and tones to effectively communicate to multiple internal and external audiences and stakeholders. Create corresponding briefing documents as needed for laboratory director's speaking engagements. Coordinate topics and messaging with lab leadership and communications and public affairs colleagues and prioritize messages and material that is consistent with laboratory branding and positioning. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the laboratory's executive and senior management, as well as subject matter experts and communication specialists, to ensure consistent content, messaging and timing of communications. Monitor and analyze developments and major issues pertaining to energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, and renewable power technologies, and the integration and optimization of energy systems to ensure these topics are appropriately addressed and articulated. Recommend and implement strategies and tactics to meet laboratory goals and enhance laboratory's reputation.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a relevant Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience OR relevant Master's degree and 7+ years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience OR relevant PhD and 4+ years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience OR relevant J.D. degree and 4+ years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Should apply extensive technical expertise, and have full knowledge of other related disciplines. Extensive knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field required. Expert understanding of complex renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy systems and the role of the national laboratory system in research, development, and deployment of these technologies is preferred. Public affairs and media and stakeholder relations experience desired. Experience developing content for cross-platform publication, including print, web, social, video, and other digital platforms is an asset. Should be an expert in understanding of complex renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy systems and the role of the national laboratory system in research, development, and deployment of these technologies.
