A law firm in Belleville is seeking a Junior Litigation Associate Attorney experienced in toxic tort litigation, general defense litigation, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in drafting legal documents, and hold admission to the Illinois Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Handle toxic tort litigation cases, including research, case preparation, and courtroom representation.
  • Manage general defense litigation matters, including complex personal injury, medical negligence, and insurance coverage issues.
  • Conduct legal research and draft opinions, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and development.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting litigation practice areas.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar.
  • Experience in toxic tort litigation, general defense litigation, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to draft complicated opinions, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Prior experience in a law firm setting is preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar.

 

Skills:
