Legal Secretary The candidate work for the Prosecution and Code Enforcement section (PACE). This position performs secretarial duties utilizing legal terminology, procedures and documents and requires the ability to prepare legal documents and manage case files. Reviews case files for accuracy and completeness, and updates case records showing current status, time, court date, location, continuations or new motions. Assists with preparation and filing of Ordinances and Resolutions with City Council. Obtains and reviews information for cases from legal sources and public record and determines discoverable materials. Serves as primary point of contact for general inquiries, information, or data tracking. Distributes and manages invoices. Provides customer service to Prosecution and Code Enforcement section staff, internal City and County of Denver clients, and Denver citizens. Performs filing and proofreading of legal documents and correspondence. Orders and maintains supplies and supply room. Assists with archiving files and Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) responses. provide information to courts, personnel, attorneys and the public and preparing legal documents and managing case files. Creation, entry, and maintenance of various database fields. Front line customer service. Assist other staff and provide backup. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have completed Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate. Must have 3 years of general clerical experience including 1 year of legal experience preparing legal documents such as: amendments, summonses, discovery orders, citations, motions and pleading. Knowledge of electronic court filing procedures and rules for state and federal courts, including appellate courts is preferred. Should have demonstrated proficiency with the following computer applications: MS-Word Office 2010; MS-Excel; MS-PowerPoint; Adobe-Pro; CCE/ ECF/ PACER; Outlook; Colorado Courts Data Access. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for up to two years of the minimum experience EXCEPT for the one year of clerical experience preparing legal documents such as: amendments, summonses, discovery orders, citations, motions and pleadings.
