Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. and license to practice in the District of Columbia or Maryland, or eligibility to obtain license through reciprocity. Must have +3 years of experience in the practice of law. 5 years preferred. Should have experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience managing or supervising electronic discovery projects is required. Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills. Should have superior critical and analytical thinking skills. Must have high level of proficiency in spotting legal issues, analyzing the law (decisional, regulatory, statutory), applying legal analysis to factual circumstances and making appropriate recommendations, taking into account relevant political considerations. Should have proficiency with Microsoft Office software (including PowerPoint and Excel), case management systems, e-discovery and legal research applications. Must have strong interpersonal skills to deal pleasantly and tactfully with a variety of individuals (e.g., appointed officials, staff members and outside contacts) under pressure of constraints and interruptions, and to deliver unpopular of difficult advice. Knowledge of healthcare law, contract law, and non-profit association/corporate law is required.
