Paralegal The candidate will serve in the production of legal documents, letters, motions, discovery and other communications to counsel, insureds, courts and other legal professionals. Will have ability to enter new cases, and, generally, run the law office in terms of billings and supplies, as well as greeting visitors to the office. Prepare all forms of correspondence and varied documents with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Windows, Outlook, Lotus and/or Excel. Process, scan and associate mail to matter management program. Prepare outgoing mail; Operate a multi-line phone system. Schedule depositions, coordinate multiple calendars, and arrange for adequate facilities/conference rooms for depositions and witness meetings. Open and close suit files, and prepare legal billings. Overall Company Operations. Provide exceptional customer service. Collaborate with co-workers by assisting in areas where and when needed. Exhibit positive demeanor and professional behavior toward coworkers, clients and customers. Actively participate in personal goal setting and in the coaching and performance management process. Observe all company safety and health rules and apply these in all day-to- day activities. Reasonable and predictable attendance is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred. Should have 8+ years of legal administrative assistant experience. Previous experience within the insurance defense or in house insurance defense industries is required. Must have thorough understanding of the processes of insurance defense litigation and be able to explain to insureds when asked.
