Attorney The candidate will serve as a legal advisor and provides legal assistance for ministry markets within an assigned region. Advance the implementation of legal policies and procedures in the ministry markets within the region. Keep current with legal developments affecting the ministry markets in the region. Oversee and manage litigation, administrative proceedings and other regulatory proceedings including licensure and certification. Manage outside counsel engaged to represent the ministry market. Support governance activities for the ministry markets within the region as assigned, including review of governance documents and serving as counsel to boards and/or committees. Collaborate with legal practice area team leads, attorneys and the Shared Services Group to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of legal services. Collaborate with the Compliance and Risk Functions in the delivery of legal services to provide legal advice and counsel. Juris Doctorate required. 4+ years as a licensed practicing attorney required. Multi-site health systems or hospital systems experience preferred. Should be licensed in either Kansas or Oklahoma with eligiblity to obtain a license in the other state. Experience in Clinical and Regulatory healthcare issues (e.g., EMTALA, Medical staff/peer review; GME; provider based; licensing) preferred.
