Profile

Managing Director, Personal Trust and Guardianship Services The candidate will be responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of personal trusts, guardianships and related accounts, overseeing effective and efficient administration and communication, and ensuring adherence to external and internal compliance requirements and time standards. Will require regular in-person meetings with clients and clients’ families and representatives and centers of influence, as well as contact via mail, telephone, email and fax. Attendance at court hearings associated with client accounts may be necessary from time to time. Administers select assigned group of trust accounts and guardianship estates. Acts as in-person contact to clients, client’ families and representatives, courts and centers of influence related to assigned trust relationships and guardianship estates. Leads new business development initiatives for Personal Trust and Guardianship Services opportunities. Acts as a senior fiduciary discipline representative to centers of influence and other financial institutions. Retains recapturable assets distributed to trust beneficiaries and wards. Coordinates with support personnel and Trust Tax, Trust Operations, Investment Management, Special Assets, Central Services and Compliance teams to ensure proper completion of work flow. Prepares and/or approves annual administrative account reviews and resolves exceptions by deadlines. Prepares letters and other forms of correspondence directed to clients, clients’ families and representatives, vendors and centers of influence. Partners with Central Services in the preparation and execution of account opening and closing documentation. Reviews and manages daily transactions in light of client needs, fiduciary parameters and cash balance management. Reviews daily trial balance for all accounts. Reviews and approves payment of vendor invoices. Partners with Central Services to process changes on the trust accounting system for various accounts as necessary. Responds to audit, compliance and examination requests. Manages at risk business and account litigation. Understands and complies with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations pertinent to this position; stays informed and shares updates on changes with management. Required to successfully complete all required Compliance training. Supports continuously the Bank’s and Wealth Management’s Mission Statements and Core Values.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in the area of probate, trust and estate planning; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have advanced knowledge of trust administration and guardianship practice, as well as the review of estate planning and other governing/legal documents. Juris Doctorate strongly preferred. Law degree, CTFA preferred.
