Contract Analyst Responsibilities: Review and analyze construction-related client contracts to identify contractual risk exposures and provide practical advice to clients/prospective clients regarding risk mitigation and the interaction of insurance coverage and contractual risk. Provide clients with contractual risk-management guidance, strategies, and training. Engage with client personnel (including in-house/outside counsel, risk managers, purchasing managers, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary) to assist in development of contractual risk and insurance provisions to ensure proper alignment of contractual risk with the clients’ insurance coverage. Work with colleagues to identify coverage gaps and/or contractual exposures in prospective client insurance programs in preparation for capabilities presentations. Assist in the development of new business, including participating in capabilities presentations, RFP responses, and other business development activities in-person or via videoconferencing. Engage regularly with current clients in scheduled EPIC Risk Management Reviews to discuss new exposures, market conditions, significant activities, services performed for clients, open claims status, etc. Maintain all required legal/insurance licenses or certifications, as well as current knowledge of insurance industry trends. Attend seminars, workshops, continuing education, and training programs, as necessary and appropriate.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree required from an ABA-approved program. Licensed to practice law in at least one state. Obtain IRMI Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation within one year of hire. Should have 5 years of experience in contracts management, insurance coverage, construction, and/or other comparable legal experience within a law firm or in-house legal department. May be required to obtain Property & Casualty agent/producer license or other professional insurance designations.
