Paralegal / Legal Assistant The candidate will review, analyze, evaluate medical results and issues pertaining to the litigation process. Will draft discovery requests and organize discovery responses for attorneys" approval. Prepare drafts of certain documents for attorneys" review/final approval; emphasis on civil litigation pleadings and discovery. Forward records to clients and experts. Preparation of subpoenas. File management and case progression. Review and summarize cases including all recordscoordinate trial prep including exhibits and records. Drafting documents, including correspondence, answers to interrogatories, pleadings, motions, certain business forms and probate court documents, for attorneys review/approval. Ordering, compiling and summarizing medical records and bills and preparing economic and non-economic loss compendium. Compile and analyze discovery records. Performing case and court-related electronic research, as requested by supported attorneys. Transcription of audio/video files. Preparing for deposition and attendance at trials, as requested by supported attorneys. Running reports and tracking statutes. Communicating with clients. Assisting with Administrative Assistant tasks in supporting attorneys. Current Paralegal certification or degree required. Should have 2-3 years of recent law firm experience in litigation. Must have experience with medical records. Must have knowledge in medical terminology and hospital practices procedure. Should be proficient in medical and legal research. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe and PowerPoint, knowledge of Trialworks and Juris preferred, Westlaw, Lexis Nexus, Pacer and Federal, State and Local election databases a plus. Paralegal certification required.
