Marine Claims Specialist I
Duties: Collaborate and develop partnerships with internal and external points of contact including customers, vendors, suppliers, and brokers to provide a quality claims experience. Be part of an internal career path and actively participate in continuous conversations with your leadership that fosters growth into a consultative claims subject-matter expert in commercial property claims handling. Learn technical claims excellence and industry best practices from a team of dedicated leaders. Interact with colleagues from diverse experiences and backgrounds in a team environment. Invest in your career development through the attainment of adjuster state licenses, or insurance designations and coursework. Develop partnerships across organizational levels and functions. Occasional business travel may be required.

Qualification and Experience

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area OR 1 or more years in the Zurich North America Claims Foundational Training Program. OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 2+ years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area. OR Juris Doctor and 1 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area. AND Must obtain and maintain the required adjuster license(s). Customer service experience. Preferred Qualifications: Analytical skills; Negotiation skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Experience collaborating across workgroups; organization skills and time management skills; Microsoft Office experience; experience with Xm8, Xactimate, Xact, or Xactanalysis; experience with Marine Cargo claims.
