Intermediate -Paralegal
The candidate provides administrative support to the Investigations Unit within Employee Relations Department, the Department's external and internal clients. Reviews and drafts correspondence, reports, and other documents based on research of applicable policies, laws and regulations in consultation with Investigations Specialists and/or Managers. Researches applicable state and federal statutes and regulations, case law and regulatory agency rulings, organization policies in conjunction with facts. Reviews applicable polices to determine compliance requirements. Prepares investigations plans. Compiles, reviews, and summarizes data and facts relating to investigations and other information as needed. Analyzes and drafts responses to internal complaints, agency charges and investigation related discovery requests. Obtains investigation documents and information needed. Maintains computerized file database; tracks and monitors status of investigations and documents for investigations; notifies investigators of changes and maintains case calendar. Responds to inquiries regarding status of investigations. Conducts, under direction of Investigations Unit Specialists and Managers, party and witness interviews. Assists with the organization of documents and files. Coordinates investigation related activities for Investigations Specialists and Managers with internal staff, Legal Department, external counsel and other external contacts. Provides guidance to junior paralegal staff. Performs such other duties as may be required.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should preferably have bachelors' degree ( must have 4+ years of experience in a related field in lieu of the degree) and 3 additional years of related exp per the required qualifications for a total of 7+ years of experience. Must have 3+ years of related legal experience to include successful completion of a paralegal or legal assistant training program required or completion of Juris Doctorate program. Experience in employment law issues is essential. Full use and understanding of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques pertinent to the paralegal field is essential. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access) is essential.
