Corporate Paralegal RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the general counsel and his staff. Assist with litigation matters including data collection and responding to subpoenas. Assist the intellectual property group with patent processes and reports. Prepare and draft corporate resolutions. Conduct queries in corporate and public databases and report findings and statistics. Assist with managing the legal budget including tracking and paying invoices. Assist in drafting correspondence to clients regarding status of legal matters including patent applications. Provide clerical support as necessary, including filing, copying, and performing data entry for the legal department. Perform legal research and analysis using tools including Westlaw, PACER and PAIR. Assist with processing and recording contracts and associated documents. Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence. Work closely with engineers and outside counsel to help administer the patent program. Administer and track IP incentive awards.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree plus 5+ years of paralegal experience (at least 2 years of in-house experience preferred). Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and independently. Strong administrative and project-management skills. General knowledge of corporate law and maintenance of corporate entity records. Tech-savvy person with excellent software skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint. Experience running patent and trademark searches. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to meticulously proof documents. Ability to take on a wide variety of projects and tasks and accommodate tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Substantial experience in document collection, review, organization, categorization and production in complex litigation.
