A law firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of labor and employment defense experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment counseling and litigation before federal and state courts and government agencies. They should possess excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, and be experienced in counseling employers on labor and employment issues, conducting investigations, and supporting employment-related litigation. A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in The Florida Bar are required.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counseling to employers on a range of labor and employment law issues.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation before federal and state courts and government agencies.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents including position statements, employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, and policies.
  • Conduct witness interviews and investigations to support employment-related cases.
  • Prepare and manage responses to employment-related claims and disputes.
  • Support and manage employment-related litigation, including discovery and motion practice.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor and employment law and provide informed legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of labor and employment defense experience.
  • Experience in employment counseling and litigation before federal and state courts and government agencies.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and providing strategic legal advice.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and support litigation efforts effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in The Florida Bar.
