Manager Business and Legal Affairs The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that business affairs of the organization are handled within Company guidelines and procedures. Will provide advice and guidance to Business Affairs staff and executives in contract negotiations, acquisitions and joint ventures. Manages teams which may include exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies. Assists in development, and meeting of, departmental budget. Own the customer experience-think and act in ways that put customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services. Know stuff-be enthusiastic learners, users and advocates of game-changing technology, products and services, especially digital tools and experiences. Win as a team-make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas. Provides continuous counsel and guidance on legal matters and on legal implications of all matters. Performs legal research and provides opinions or memoranda regarding contract liability, and on general corporate issues. Acts as initial point of contact for internal teams concerning legal aspects and interpretation of contracts. Communicates new and/or modified contract terms, for new and existing products, to all affected internal teams (i.e. operations, sales, finance, audit, customer support, and/or data management) for their incorporation into and/or adaptation of their departmental processes. Negotiates and drafts new agreements and/or amendments to existing contracts, interacting with in-house and outside counsel, as appropriate. Manages Business and Legal Affairs projects as assigned. Works with other lawyers in the Business and Legal Affairs department regarding trademark, copyright, and clearance issues. Works to establish needed processes that will create efficiencies in the Business and Legal Affairs group. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Should have Juris Doctor (JD). Must have 6-9 years related experience.
