Job Overview:

A growing law firm in Vancouver, WA, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their estate planning and elder law practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients plan for the second half of their lives, with experience in trust administration and probate being a plus. The position offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload while working closely with partners to provide comprehensive legal services to clients. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle estate planning, probate, and guardianship cases from start to finish.
  • Meet with clients to understand their needs and design custom estate plans.
  • Provide education to prospective clients about estate planning and elder law.
  • Assist with Medicaid applications.
  • Handle trust administration and probate matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and other team members to ensure cases progress smoothly.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon or Washington and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law (experience in trust administration and probate is a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases independently.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 25 pounds.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon or Washington.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in word processing software, electronic calendars, and case management tools.
  • Excellent research, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Emotional intelligence and empathy when working with clients, particularly seniors.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work efficiently, and handle multiple priorities.
