Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established and respected immigration law firm located in Oakland, CA, is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, particularly in removal defense, and can manage a diverse caseload. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred but not required for exceptionally qualified applicants. Duties:
- Conduct consultations with prospective clients regarding immigration-related issues
- Manage a caseload primarily focused on removal defense
- Represent clients before Immigration Court, USCIS, ICE, the BIA, and federal courts
- Prepare and draft legal filings for submissions to relevant agencies and courts
- Occasionally travel outside of the local area for hearings and other case-related matters (driver’s license preferred)
- Visit detained clients at detention centers when necessary
- Advise criminal defense attorneys on the immigration consequences of criminal cases and pleas
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to any state bar (California preferred)
- Ideally, at least 2 years of immigration law experience, though exceptional new graduates with prior immigration law experience (internships, paralegal roles, or clinics) will also be considered
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including a booster
Education:

Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in any . state (California preferred)
