Litigation - General (consumer)

Litigation Counsel The candidate will work closely with all parts of the business related to potential or ongoing litigation matters, as well as Legal Compliance team, advising at all levels of the organization both domestically and internationally. Will provide daily advice and counseling on a range of litigation and investigation issues, including litigation holds, discovery, litigation briefing and management, and internal investigations. Develop and implement litigation-related practices, policies, and trainings. Review and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other litigation-related inquiries. Serve as central point of coordination for all litigation matters in the company, including coordination and tracking of responses and facilitation of discovery. Develop systems to track ongoing litigation matters, create cooperative and efficient relationships with outside counsel, and institute and train relevant offices on best practices for discovery searches and response. Support the Head of Legal Compliance with any internal investigations arising from whistleblower, audit or other reports. Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers, enforcing budget discipline and innovating to achieve cost and operational efficiencies.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree with strong academic credentials. Should be admitted to practice law in at least one US state. Must have 4+ years of relevant experience working on litigation matters in-house or at a Vault 100 law firm. Intellectual property litigation experience, particularly copyright infringement, is a plus. Experience developing and presenting training to employees and managers an asset.
