Paralegal II- US Gas Law The candidate works closely with in-house attorneys and with outside attorneys, as necessary, on a wide variety of matters pertaining to federal and state regulatory matters, compliance, contract administration and document review, including the following: Assists in coordinating and implementing company compliance activities related to rights of way, permitting, major project support, operations, environmental health and safety matters, and department of transportation matters. Conducts legal research, cite checking, etc. Drafts routine legal documents such as assignments, affidavits, easements, etc. Assists with contract review. Reviews and analyzes documents for document production and due diligence requests, under the direct supervision of an attorney. Responsible for managing document organization, document production and due diligence, including number-stamping, redacting, photocopying and indexing of documents. Assists in preparation of the yearly budget for group and assists in tracking budget status. Assists in managing the work of outside counsel by tracking and following up on issues related to work flow. Must have Bachelor’s degree or ABA approved Paralegal Certificate. Should have 5+ years of paralegal experience. 5+ years of experience conducting legal research is needed. Experience working for a pipeline company and/or familiarity with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules and regulations is preferred. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Excel) is a plus. Experience developing collaborative working relationships with internal business unit clients and outside counsel is helpful.
