Regulatory Compliance Counsel, Innovation Law (Remote) Duties: Conduct complex research on applicable laws, regulations, and other legal authority; ability to summarize concisely and collaborate with other areas of the company to determine the impact of new laws and regulations on business and enable action plans. Understand interaction in regulated environments between business, policy, compliance, legislative and legal frameworks. Deliver real-time and creative problem solving and legal advice for emerging business issues, legal topics, and risk management. Play a key role in strategy determination, action planning, and communication with business partners, business units, and other areas of Law & Regulation. Provide commercial counseling and transaction support to Allstate’s non-insurance service businesses. Ability to anticipate legal concerns and provide creative problem-solving in a dynamic business environment. Develop and mentor colleagues in both substantive knowledge and consensus-building skills. Strong business acumen, excellent executive presence, and concise verbal and written communication are a must.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: J.D is required. License to practice law in the US. 7+ years of legal experience in a law firm or an in-house legal department. Experience working with large compliance projects within a complex organization with various lines of business or work experience outside legal context is a plus. Leadership skills, including team building, collaboration, coaching, developing, and guiding. Executive presence and concise verbal and written communication skills. Budget management skills. Project management skills. Computer skills, including MS Office suite, used in or related to the tasks performed. Analytical skills. Ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
