Counsel 2- Wealth and Investment Management Division The candidate will become a member of the Business Support team within the Wealth Investment Management Division of the Legal Department, providing legal support and counsel associated with investment products made available to wealth management clients. This attorney will primarily support contract related work associated with the distribution and offering of alternative investment funds and registered investment companies. As such, will draft, negotiate, and advise on various contracts related to private fund offerings, including placement agreements and side letters, as well as registered investment company offerings, including dealer and marketing and support payment agreements. Will have the opportunity to work directly with the business units responsible for the distribution of such products, as well as more senior lawyers on the team.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Active State Bar membership is required. should preferably have Ability to research law and regulations and develop advice with respect to complex legal issues using public as well as company websites and databases. Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills are required. must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Should preferably have Familiarity with alternative investment and mutual fund product offerings, including the broker-dealer rules and/or securities laws related to such offerings. Familiarity with registered and unregistered alternative investment fund structures is desired. Should preferably have substantial experience in providing the type of advice, counsel and client advocacy described above to regulated financial institutions and their most senior business, risk and compliance executives. Prior in-house regulatory experience at a large financial firm or experience at a bank regulatory agency is preferred. Close Date 11/02/2021
