Legal Secretary The candidate will be organizing and processing all legal paperwork mandated by the Code of Virginia and the courts/judges of Chesterfield. Functions include: answering incoming calls; assisting the public; typing legal correspondences, letters, memos, court orders, etc.; data entry, filing of criminal records, copying, running background checks on VCIN (will be trained and certified by Virginia State Police); providing back-up for all legal secretaries as needed. Must have High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of increasingly responsible secretarial experience including experience as a legal secretary; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have good knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar; of office procedures, methods and practices; of principles and practices of effective customer service. Should have working skill in the operation of word processing equipment and other automated office systems. Must have ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Good oral/written communication skills required. Closing Date: 30 November 2017.
