IP Paralegal, Patents Duties: Oversight for Invention Disclosure submission tool. Management of inventor contacts. Management of Inventor Award Program. Creation of patent matters in e-billing platform. Intake of first priority filings. US and foreign docketing. Management of foreign filing program and intake of foreign counterpart filings. Management of EP validation process. Management of patent asset renewal program. Liaison with US and Foreign patent counsel and development of WD guidelines for outside counsel.. Management of portfolio transfers (internal and external). Intake of acquired patent assets and due diligence. Patent portfolio analysis and reporting.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Paralegal training or associates degree preferred. 5+ years in house patent prosecution experience. Additional experience at a law firm experience is a plus. Experience using Foundation IP database and CPA renewals. Experience using IP web sources such as USPTO PAIR, EPO Patent Register, WIPO, etc. In depth understanding of US and foreign patent docketing, patent renewals requirements, assignment requirements, and the ability to correctly and accurately docket deadlines. Attention to detail and an ability to focus on repetitive tasks. Ability to work independently in recognizing docketing anomalies, conduct appropriate research and resolve issues. Proficiency with technology and the efficient use of technology for reporting. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Highly organized, self-directed, efficient time management skills and an ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks. High proficiency in computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
