Family Law Paralegal Duties: File management (paper and electronic). Correspondence with clients, pro se opposing parties, opposing counsel and their support staff, and court staff. Calendaring/Scheduling motions hearings, case schedules, mediations, etc. Drafting pleadings; including, petitions, declarations, parenting plan, child support worksheets, family law motions, calendar notes, mediation briefs, ER 904s, etc. Drafting clear and concise correspondence, emails, etc. Meeting with clients.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Be experienced with keeping track of time and using billing/time entry software. Be reliable, personable, have a team oriented mindset, and good work ethic. Critical thinking skills and ability to think on feet. Have strong written and oral communication skills and strong math skills. Have the ability to work closely with others as well as independently. Be a self-started and quick learner. Extremely well organized and possess impeccable attention to detail. Able to manage multiple cases with conflicting deadlines and time pressures. Have good computer skills. Have experience with Family Soft, Outlook and creating Excel spreadsheets. Be familiar with Washington court rules and filing deadlines.
