Immigration Attorney in Chicago IL

A Chicago based Immigration law firm dedicated 100% to immigration law with two offices in Chicago. We are a client oriented, value-driven, team-oriented, and data-minded immigration law firm. We are seeking to hire a full-time experienced Deportation Defense and Family based Immigration Attorney to join our team.

Duties:

1. The candidate must have at least 3+ years of full time experience in a Family and Litigation Immigration Practice Law firm. 
2. Prepare for client meetings, consult with clients, create strategies and guide clients to provide necessary information and documentation to build strong cases.
3. Research complex immigration issues, apply informed analysis and develop creative and appropriate solutions to clients’ cases.
4. Supervise paralegal and other attorney work as needed. 
5. Attend court proceedings.
6. Prepare, draft and review briefs, motions, and other pleadings.
7. Conduct legal research.
8. Work independently and in a team setting.
9. Communicate with clients to update them about their case progression.
10. Instruct and conduct weekly meeting with support staff.
11. Must have excellent client servicing skills.
12. Impeccable English grammar and written skills are critical.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 3 years professional legal experience representing clients in all aspects of family immigration and Deportation defense required.
2. Excellent writing and communication skills required.
3. Ability to research and solve complex legal issues required.
4. Ability to supervise and guide junior associates, paralegals and/or other staff required.
5. Highly organized with strong client, case and time management skills required.
6. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
7. Must be hard working, self-motivated with a passion to serve clients. 
8. Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
9. Must be admitted to practice law in the United States, and preferably licensed in Illinois

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
