Austin office of our client seeks associate attorney with 1-5 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for performing legal services throughout Texas. Will have access to the para-legals, consulting city planner, and a cadre of senior attorneys with decades of experience in every aspect of municipal law. Practice in the field of Municipal Law, which can include the following areas: administrative; budget and fiscal management; economic development; elections; ethics; land use and development; law enforcement and municipal court; legislative matters; litigation; open meetings and open records; human resources; procurement and construction projects; real estate; water, wastewater and the environment. Counseling local government staff, volunteers, and elected officials. Drafting orders, ordinances, resolutions, policies, and procedures. Writing and reviewing contracts, leases, easements and deeds. Researching matters of state and federal law, including statutes, administrative regulations, and case law, and preparing legal memoranda. Advocating clients? interests before administrative and judicial bodies. Prosecuting in municipal courts. Advising clients during city council and other board and commission meetings. Must be licensed to practice law in Texas (in good standing).
