Profile

Practice Group Director, Health and Regulatory Duties: Analyze Practice data (operational, financial, and talent) to identify the highest-impact strategic initiatives that will improve Practice performance. Generate business cases for proposed initiatives, and advise Practice Group Leader and Firm leadership on initiative prioritization. Partner with C-Suite leaders and teams to align Practice strategy with functional strategies, and generate customized solutions for Practice-specific challenges. Lead change management efforts within the Practice through formal communications and informal influence with Capital Partners. Manage portfolio of cross-functional projects to established timelines and budget. Manage the workflow of all Practice operations to maximum quality and efficiency. Monitor attorney productivity levels and deployment of junior attorney resources, partnering with the Practice Group Leader to diagnose and resolve areas of concern. Manage, directly and/or via staff managers, non-attorney staff, providing ongoing performance feedback and career counsel, and partnering with HR on performance interventions. Manage the Practice meetings and events calendar, and own creation of associated, Practice-specific communications. Collaborate with other Practice Group Directors to establish and implement best practices. Financial Management. Analyze key financial metrics, including Practice capacity and profitability, and generate proposed solutions for areas of opportunity and/or concern, for review with Practice leadership. Manage the departmental budget and expenditures, including monitoring expenses and reviewing monthly budget variances. Partner with the HR team to create a Practice talent strategy, assisting in management of standard processes. (e.g., talent reviews) and identifying required acquisition, development, retention, and succession improvements. Partner with recruiting department to structure and coordinate search and vetting processes. Manage lateral partner integration programs, including creating plans, tracking progress, and preparing reports for Practice Group Leaders. Monitor and influence deployment of junior attorney resources to maximize professional development and support of diversity. Work closely with Professional Development department to implement programs.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. 7-9 years of related work experience. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Superior analytic and problem-solving skills, including quantitative analysis Strategic and self-starter mentality, with strong motivational and leadership skills Experience with large-scale project management and familiarity with financial concepts Strong client service skills Ability to learn new concepts and skills and adapt quickly in complex environments Ability to travel and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
