Litigation Staff Lawyer
Duties: Assist and support litigation case teams with all aspects of the litigation life cycle beginning with pre-suit investigation and filing of the complaint through trial or other disposition of the matter. Will work on a large variety of types of litigation addressing wide ranging issues, including commercial, employment, environmental, construction, antitrust, oil & gas, renewable energies, and many others. Will relate to all aspects of the litigation lifecycle. Drafting initial pleadings; Performing legal research;Drafting and responding to written discovery; Interacting with clients to gather information necessary to respond to discovery requests; Drafting and responding to motions to dismiss, discovery motions, motions for summary judgment and other dispositive and non-dispositive motions; Preparing draft witness deposition outlines and otherwise assisting lead lawyers in preparing for depositions; Preparing drafts of witness lists, exhibit lists, motions in limine, jury charges, and other pretrial submissions; Drafting trial and post-trial briefs and motions; Assisting litigation case team and eDiscovery counsel with identification of key data custodians and electronic evidence, coordination of preservation and collection of evidence, and development of data culling strategies based on case knowledge;Participating in large-scale document review projects as part of pre-suit or internal investigations, discovery in pending matters, or responding to government requests. Document review responsibilities typically include examining documents, usually electronically, for the following four factors: relevance, responsiveness, privilege, and confidentiality. Follows a detailed series of steps that are tailored to a client’s needs. Categorizes documents accordingly and may also summarize, tab, highlight, chart, and collect certain information gleaned from the documents. May also include redaction of documents and creation of privilege and redaction logs.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have A U.S. licensed lawyer with 5 years of experience practicing litigation, preferably in a law firm setting. Will have broad experience with research, writing, written discovery, eDiscovery, review/analysis of production documents, and providing deposition and trial support. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage workload are required. Effective communication skills, at all levels;Ability to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines;Familiarity with Relativity and other eDiscovery review platforms; Familiarity with basic eDiscovery principles
