Commercial Loan Funder / Closer III The candidate will handle Corporate Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Wealth Management (WMG) loan documentation and closing related functions and will be involved in initial fundings. Support team by providing a variety of due-diligence and documentation review functions. Review draft loan documents and address issues/concerns with attorneys, lenders and customers as needed. Remain up to date on all policies, procedures and training. Identify and address and/or elevate issues and exceptions with Manager. Ensure funding is in compliance with loan documentation and according to the Bank’s required policies and procedures. Review all documents to ensure compliance with federal/state regulatory requirements, and BBVA Compass’ credit policy before loans are closed. Review the loan approval for accuracy and compliance with policy. Order, review, and coordinate loan documents from attorney or prepare documents internally on Laser Pro. Review and negotiate loan documents to ensure loan is documented as approved. Gather and review all due diligence items required according to collateral type, entity type and loan policy. Prepare Laser Pro loan documentation in accordance with the Bank’s approval. Properly document any policy and/or due diligence exceptions throughout the closing/funding process. Carefully review and approve any documents provided by Third Party Vendors, if applicable. Compare documents and discuss discrepancies with underwriter and loan officer for resolution or escalate for assistance. Prepare and review loan closing package and coordinate signatures to ensure all documentation was properly executed. Ensure all ‘subject to conditions’ are met or proper approval to waive is obtained. Prepare electronic booking work package and perform post close review to ensure loan boarded onto the system accurately. Prepare funding of loan according to approved terms and conditions to include verification of signors, advance rates, and compliance with all loan agreement requirements. Interface with internal lenders, Credit Risk Officers, borrowers, attorneys, etc. Must have Associates degree in Business Administration or an equivalent of 4 years of professional experience. Should have 4 years in Commercial and Industrial loan documentation and closing. Must have 4 years within a financial institution and/or law firm with some experience working with Commercial and Industrial credits. Paralegal experience is a plus. Laser Pro experience in a Doc Prep environment preferred. A combination of experience in two or more of these areas–legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan documentation, loan review, audit or compliance desired. In-depth knowledge of all types of commercial loan documentation, along with extensive knowledge/experience in perfection of liens in accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, vehicles, negotiable securities, aircraft, ship mortgages, etc. preferred. In depth knowledge of Real Estate transactions for all types of property including title policies, survey’s, appraisals, etc. preferred. In depth knowledge of Letters of Credit, financial covenants, government entities, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, and agricultural desired. Must be able to identify loan documentation and lien perfection issues and resolve appropriately.
